Bud's Motorcycle Shop
Bud's shop is a local spot we reference quite often. It is an Austin staple and you can spend hours looking through piles and piles of crusty treasures. They've recently started a blog to keep people updated on whats going on up at the shop. Check it out: budsmc.blogspot.com.

FXDX
I picked up this '99 FXDX yesterday on a steal. After getting activated and driving 10 hours round trip to Abilene, TX and back, Brian and I unloaded the bike and then I stayed up all night pulling junk off and adding some parts I already had in my garage. It started as another dudes "chopper" and after a day of screwing with it, I feel its starting to shape into something viable. Alot of stuff is still temporary while parts are on order, but you get the idea. This thing moves!

Juniors' 3rd Sportster
So I bought another Sportster after selling my 69 a few weeks ago. This one is a 2001 XL1200C. I bought it from a guy about 45 miles north of here. It came with bags, a tank bra, fringe bullshit on the clutch/break levers and some other aftermarket do dads..
I am by no stretch of the words done with this bike, but this is where I'm at so far. (We can't all turn a 01 sportster into a completely different bike in a week) I pulled the tank, both fenders, the bars, the pipes, the air cleaner, switched from forwards controls to mids, and swapped the seat for one of those new Biltwell sportster seats. (I've got a LaPera solo seat up for grabs, hit me up if you're intersted streetcred@hotmail.com) I swapped the fender out for a TT&Co ribbed fender. The aircleaner is from Benchmark. I am running a sidemount plate with Death Head tail light (on loan from Matt). The bars are Chump bars from Biltwell. The tank is a 90's sporty tank with a slightly different mount which makes it sit more on the backbone.
I still need to narrow the bars a bit, rewire, change the grips, change the hand controls, paint, and ride the fuck out of it. More updates to come.

Day Off
Brian, Nick and I took the day off on Friday to do some chopper business. I picked up all the stuff I needed to lace my rear star hub to an 18. Along with that came fitting a new fender and sissy bar.
Dave Sr. made an appearance on his pan.
Brian's Genny shakedown weekend.
All back together, with a new stance.

Last weekend, Brian scored this rad '53 wishbone frame and the fun began with transferring everything from his '66 swing arm frame.
Peaches showed up to oversee this operation
Remember to wear proper safety attire when mig welding.

The Tramp
"With a custom machined 80″ motor on alcohol running through twin Riley carburetors “Tramp” ran 125 mph at the Half Day Drag strip in 1952. This earned Smith a 1952 Midwest National Championship. In 1954 the motor size was increased to 92 cubic inches and in one of the most epic battles in Bonneville history with the Joe Petrelli Knucklehead, the “Tramp” got the better of the Petrelli bike with a top speed of 152.2 mph. sealing the Tramp’s fate as one of the most historical bikes in American racing history."
