Love Cycles

On our way to Born Free 3, we stopped off in Pheonix to check out Love Cycles.  It is rare to meet someone as positive as Jeremiah Armenta, thanks for letting us disrupt your work and hang at the shop.  His Born Free panhead was my favorite bike of the show and I managed to get a few shots while we hid from the 118 degree heat.

JC's Shovel Chopper

This bike is a real survivor. Owned by my friend and neighbor JC, this old chopper has been to Sturgis twice, once in 1983 and again in 2008 commemorating 25 years. Since JC was 60 years old at the time of the second run, I'd say he deserves some props. He also deserves props for keeping a real deal chopper on the road for more than 35 years. It has seen several changes over that time as one might expect. Different gas tanks, seats, a couple of different springers etc, even a 24 over Freddy Hernandez at one point! , but the basic machine has been the same since day one. It also sports a nifty hand/foot clutch and shift combo he came up with many years ago. I rarely see him foot-shift but I'm sure it comes in handy when he has to turn that thing around! He makes no real concessions for comfort to accomodate his age but still rides the shit out of it. JC is the real McCoy and a great guy to have for a neighbor............. ;)
